On November 3, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan and the Committee members met with the world famous boxer Arthur Abraham and the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan.

Sisak Gabrielyan highly assessed the famous athlete’s contribution in the chronicle of the Armenian sport.

The Committee Chair noted that sufficient allocations were envisaged for the development of especially children and youth and mass sports by the state draft budget for 2022. He expressed conviction that from now on our athletes would show good results in the competitions, and the state victorious flag of Armenia would be raised for many, many times.

Arthur Abraham presented to the MPs his passed path, as well as talked about the programmes directed to the development of sport in Armenia.

The famous athlete raised in Nerkin Charbakh made a park in his childhood playground. A sport school bearing Arthur Abraham’s name will be built with the continuation of the park. He noted that with joint efforts that we should encourage the young people engaging in sport, healthy way of life, and involving possibly a great number of youth is an important component of his programme. The best athletes will be trained in different sports centres of the world. The boxer’s dream is that Armenia have serious achievements in the sphere of sport.

As Karen Giloyan presented, voluminous works would be done for the benefit of the sport development. Sport schools will be built with the names of the world famous athletes, and in 2022 the sport schools will have qualitative and modern equipment. Evaluating Artur Abraham’s initiative, the Deputy Minister noted that with the state and purposeful support we would have one more important sport school.

An agreement was reached to meet and have substantive discussions in the near future.
